This is a special homework assignment in which you will take part in a human subject experiment. Human subject experiments are designed to answer some fundamental questions about human perception. Taking part in such an experiment will help you better understand the topics in lectures as well as design your own perceptual experiences for the final project. Completing this assignment will count for an extra credit of up to 4% towards your final grade.

The assignment will consist of three parts. We will release them during the term on the main page according to the deadlines from the Course Schedule page.

There will be several human subject experiments available during the term and run by researchers at the Center for Ubiquitous Computing. You will be able to pick the one you like, participate in it, and report on your experience back to us.

Both parts of the assignment will be given equal points, then we will add them up to form a total grade for the term assignment.

If there is a reason why you can't participate in human subject experiments, please contact us as soon as possible during lecture or on for an alternative assignment.
